Shoply Apps

About us as an app developer

What is Shoply Apps?

Shoply Apps is a small team that builds focused Shopify apps. Each app does one job well, works inside your Shopify admin and uses only Shopify's own tools and data.

Are you a Shopify Partner?

Yes. Shoply Apps is a Shopify Partner, and our first app, Shoply: Item Scan & Analytics, is on the Shopify App Store.

Which apps do you offer?

Three so far: Item Scan & Analytics finds the product problems that cost you money, Translation & Markets shows what's missing to sell in each country, and Apps ROI Tracker shows which of your sales apps pay for themselves. More are on the way.

How much do your apps cost?

Item Scan & Analytics is free to install with every feature included, and Translation & Markets will be free to install too. We'll share Apps ROI Tracker's pricing before it launches. If we ever add paid plans, we'll tell you well in advance, and Shopify always asks for your approval before any charge.

Will your apps change my store without asking?

No. Our apps only change something when you choose to, and every change they make can be undone. Apps ROI Tracker only reads your data and never changes anything.

Where is my store's data kept, and do you share it?

Our apps and their small databases run in the EU, in Frankfurt, Germany. We don't send your store's data to outside services, and we never sell it. Each app's privacy policy explains what it stores and why.

What happens to my data if I uninstall an app?

Each app deletes your store's data after you uninstall it. The app's privacy policy gives the details for that app.

Do your apps need each other?

No. Each app works on its own, so you can install only the one you need.

How do I get help?

Use Contact support inside the app, or email [email protected]. Tell us your store's address and what you were doing, and we'll get back to you.

Can I suggest an app or a feature?

Yes, please. Email [email protected] with the problem you'd like solved. Ideas from merchants decide what we build next.

Item Scan & Analytics

Find the product problems that cost you money

What does Item Scan & Analytics do?

It checks every product in your store for 27 problems in pricing and margin, stock, and descriptions and content, ranks them by the money at stake each month, and helps you fix them in a click or in bulk.

Where can I get it?

It's free to install from the Shopify App Store.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every feature is included, with unlimited scans and fixes. You can leave an optional one-time tip through Shopify billing to support us; a tip unlocks nothing.

What does it check?

27 checks in 3 categories: pricing and margin (such as products sold below or at cost, or under your margin target), stock (such as out of stock, oversold or about to sell out) and descriptions and content (such as missing descriptions, images, alt text and SEO fields). Three of them are optional Google Shopping checks.

How does it rank problems?

By the money at stake each month, most expensive first, so you know where to start.

Will it change my products by itself?

No. It only changes a product when you choose a fix. Bulk changes show a preview first, and every change is saved with its old value and who made it, so you can undo it.

Can I fix many products at once?

Yes. You can fix problems in bulk, for example raise prices to a target margin with a preview, or export your catalog to Excel, edit it and import it back after checking every change.

How do I get alerts?

Scans can run daily or weekly. New problems show in the app, a summary arrives every Monday, and you can get emails through Shopify Flow, which is free in Shopify.

Can my team use it?

Yes. You choose which pages and changes each person can use, from view only to running fixes.

Can I see problems on a product's page?

Yes. A card on each product page in your Shopify admin shows that product's problems.

Does it store my customers' personal data?

No. It reads orders only to total units sold and revenue per variant over the last 60 days.

Does it send my products to Google Shopping?

No. It checks the product data Google Shopping relies on, such as barcode (GTIN), brand and product category, but it doesn't submit feeds.

Translation & Markets

See what's missing to sell in each country

What does Translation & Markets do?

It shows how ready your store is to sell in each country: missing and outdated translations, products not available in a market or not on your Online Store, and odd or missing local prices, ranked by the money at stake. Then it helps you fix the translations right in the app.

What does the readiness score measure?

Each language's score is the share of your product texts that are translated: the title, description, product type, SEO title and SEO description of your active products. It also counts missing and outdated translations.

Which problems does it check?

Seven checks in every market: missing and outdated translations, products not available in a market or not on your Online Store, odd local prices, odd fixed prices and missing fixed prices.

How is the money at stake worked out?

From each product's price and stock, so the problems that could cost you the most come first.

Will it change anything in my store?

It only saves the translations you edit. It never changes your products, prices or markets, and it never saves over a translation someone changed since you opened it.

Can I translate many products at once?

Yes. Export to Excel, translate there or send the file to a translator, and import it back after checking every change. In the editor you can also get a suggestion (in Chrome) or open Google Translate beside it.

Can I undo a translation?

Yes. Every saved translation is kept for a year with its old text, and Undo puts the old text back.

How much will it cost?

It will be free to install, with every feature included. You can leave an optional one-time tip; it unlocks nothing.

When can I install it?

We'll email you as soon as it's on the Shopify App Store. Ask to be notified.

Apps ROI Tracker

See which sales apps pay for themselves

What does Apps ROI Tracker do?

It shows which of your sales apps (bundles, upsells, free gifts, discounts) pay for themselves. For each app it shows the extra profit it brings against what it costs you, and a check-up that says whether to keep, review or cancel it.

Which sales apps does it recognise?

Any app that creates discounts in your store is found by itself. Popular bundle and free-gift apps are also recognised from the markers they leave on orders. There's nothing to set up.

How does it decide if an app pays for itself?

It compares the average order with each app against your regular orders, turns the difference into extra profit using your margin, and subtracts what the app costs you: its price, any fee it takes on sales, and the cost of free gifts if you choose to count them. Our guide How to calculate the ROI of your Shopify apps shows the formula.

How reliable are the numbers?

They come from your own orders from the last 60 days. Every result says how sure it is (Sure, Fairly sure, Could be chance or Too few orders), and when an app needs more time, it tells you about how many more orders and weeks.

Why look at 7, 30 and 60 days?

An app can pay over one period and not another. Seeing all three tells you whether a result holds up or was just a good or bad week.

Does it show apps that overlap?

Yes. Statistics shows orders that used two or more sales apps, orders where discounts were combined, and which apps meet on the same orders, so you don't pay twice for one sale.

Do I need to enter my product costs?

No. If your products have a cost per item, it works out your margin from them. Otherwise you can enter your own margin, or it uses 40% until you do.

Will it change anything in my store?

No. It only reads orders, discounts, products and your theme settings. It never edits products, prices or orders, and orders are read fresh each time rather than stored.

Can it email me reports?

Yes. You can get a daily, weekly or monthly email with the apps that need a look.

How much will it cost, and when can I install it?

We'll share its pricing before it launches, and email you as soon as it's on the Shopify App Store. Ask to be notified.
